The official opening of the new school building for Faleapuna Primary School took place on Friday 25/01/19. The Government of Japan and the village of Faleapuna celebrated the completion of their new school building funded through Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects with the efforts and hard work of the school committee and the villagers.
Honourable Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malilelegaoi delivered the keynote address. The ceremony was attended by the Honourable Prime Minister Afioga Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi who also delivered the keynote address; also present was the Minister of Education, Sports and Culture, afioga Loau Solamalemalo Keneti Sio, cabinet ministers, the school committee, parents, teachers, invited guests and students.
His Excellency Maugaoleatuolo Shinya Aoki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Samoa congratulated the completion of the project.
Faleapuna Primary School received grant funds for a reconstruction project that consists of 8 classrooms, a library, a staffroom and a toilet block in an effort to provide a much needed safe and sound with healthier learning environment for its students.
Faleapuna Primary School has a roll of 139 students with 5 teachers.
