escd 2The Samoa Education Sector officially launched its “Research Strategy & Action Plan 2017-2020”, on Friday 24/08/18, at the MESC Aute Conference room, Malifa.

The Samoa Education Sector Research Strategy & Action Plan 2017-2020 is an instrument to drive one of our Government’s key priorities, to improve the quality of education and training stated in the current Strategy for the Development of Samoa (SDS), with the intention to have all people in Samoa educated and productively engaged.

The Strategy aimed to encourage, design and conduct relevant high quality research to address important issues in the education sector. It also integrated the research agendas of the three Implementing Agencies – the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture, the Samoa Qualifications Authority and the National University of Samoa.

The Keynote was delivered by the honourable minister, Afioga Loau Solamalemalo Keneti Sio, followed by a special presentation on the overview of the “Samoa Education Sector Research Strategy and Action Plan 2017-2020” which was presented by afioga Peseta Dr Desmond Lee Hang.

Stakeholders as well as development partners were all invited to attend.
