On Friday 02 February, the Government of Samoa expressed great appreciation to the United States Government for their kind assistance in funding renovations for Safata College and Sataoa Primary School.

These projects were funded by the U.S. Department of Defense’s Overseas Humanitarian Disaster, and Civic Aid (ODHACA). This was the same fund that built the Faleolo Medical Center, the Saanapu Primary School hall, and will also be rebuilding Asaga Savaii this year.

Renovations for Safata College included the construction of a new two-story building consisting of 4 classrooms, a toilet block and septic tank. There was also the replacement of the main gate.

For Sataoa Primary School, major renovations to the six-classrooms school block and teachers’ room as well as repainting the school building. A new perimeter fence and the main gate was also part of the renewal.

The keynote address was delivered by the honorable Minister of MESC, Afioga Loau Keneti Sio for both projects acknowledging the US government’s generous assistance to the development of Education in Samoa. The U.S. Ambassador to Samoa and New Zealand, HE Scott Brown delivered remarks on behalf of the United States Government thanking all the development partners that helped bring these projects to fruition.
