His Excellency Mr. Afrasiab Mehdi Hashmi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Samoa and his good lady were warmly welcomed last week by the Chief Executive Officer of MESC, Afioga Dr Karoline Afamasaga Fuata’i at the handover of Library Books kindly donated by his excellency for the Nelson Memorial Library.
The three books presented were based on Pakistan history and facts which were written by Mr Hashmi himself. According to the Ambassador, the books will help students and the public with more information of Pakistan.
Afioga Afamasaga extended her appreciation and gratitude on behalf of our country in accepting the kind donation from his Excellency.
In her speech, she mentioned: “I am sure this act of kindness will go a long way and will contribute constructively in the development of knowledge and research in Samoa. Our national libraries value partnership with other donors, such as American Embassy, Australia and New Zealand governments, and others, who contribute to the development of our national libraries through various means and aspects of sponsorship”.
She also stated that this donation will be the beginning of a fruitful partnership between Samoa and Pakistan, also looking forward to more collaborations in future on matters pertaining to education.
